1. Introduction

OpalWave Digital ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit opalwavedigital.ca or engage our services.

By using our website or services, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of personal information:

  • Contact Information — Name, email address, phone number, and business name provided through our contact form or inquiry process.
  • Project Information — Details about your project, goals, and requirements shared during onboarding or discovery.
  • Usage Data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on our website, collected automatically via analytics tools.
  • Communications — Emails, messages, or files exchanged during a project engagement.
  • Connected Platform Data — Where you authorize a connection to a third-party platform such as TikTok, basic account information and the access tokens required to perform the actions you have authorized.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and communicate about potential or active projects.
  • Deliver and manage services as outlined in a project agreement.
  • Send invoices and process payments.
  • Publish or schedule content to social media accounts you have connected and authorized.
  • Improve our website and services based on usage patterns.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience and collect analytics data. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain website functionality.

We use tools such as Google Analytics or similar services to understand how visitors interact with our site. These tools may collect anonymized usage data subject to their own privacy policies.

5. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party tools to operate our business, including but not limited to:

  • Webflow — Website hosting and CMS platform.
  • Stripe / payment processors — Invoice and payment handling.
  • Google Workspace — Email and document management.
  • Make (Integromat) / Zapier — Workflow automation.

These third parties process your data only as necessary to provide their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

Social Media and Platform Integrations

Where you connect a social media account to our tools, we access that platform only to perform the actions you have authorized.

TikTok — When a TikTok account is connected, we access basic profile information (username, display name, and avatar) and the ability to upload and publish video content on that account's behalf. We use this solely to schedule and publish content the account owner has created. We do not access private messages, follower lists, or analytics beyond what is required to confirm that a post succeeded.

Access tokens are stored securely, are used only to carry out the actions you have authorized, and are never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or profiling.

You may disconnect the integration at any time from your TikTok account settings under Security and Permissions, or by emailing info@opalwavedigital.ca. Disconnecting revokes our access immediately, and we delete stored tokens and associated platform data within 30 days.

Our use of TikTok data is subject to TikTok's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law. Project-related communications and files may be retained for up to 3 years following project completion for record-keeping purposes. Access tokens and data from connected platform accounts are deleted within 30 days of the integration being disconnected.

7. Your Rights

As a resident of British Columbia or Canada, you have rights under applicable privacy legislation (PIPEDA and BC PIPA), including:

  • The right to access your personal information held by us.
  • The right to request correction of inaccurate data.
